Common Topics in Family Law
Matters before family courts most often relate to divorce and its consequences. Protective measures, custody and personal contact, maintenance, and liquidation of the marital property regime may also be sought separately or together.
- Uncontested and contested divorce
- Interim, child, and poverty maintenance
- Custody and personal contact arrangements
- Liquidation of the marital property regime, jewellery and dowry claims
- Applications for measures under Law No. 6284
- Obligations arising from the marital union
How Does the Process Work in Ankara?
The competent court is determined according to the spouses’ place of residence and the applicable procedural rules. A significant share of family courts in Ankara operate at the Söğütözü campus.
The scope of the file (children, maintenance, assets, need for protective measures) shapes the roadmap. Where agreement is possible, a protocol is considered; otherwise, a contested lawsuit may be evaluated.
